KENWOOD KDC-3027G
As the outside of
the Astra was improving we decided to start on the sound system. The
first place to start is the head unit, so we did!
|
|
| |
First
thing to do is remove the grub screws in the front of the radio to be
able to push the removal keys into place. This is done with an hexagonal
allen key as shown in the picture. |
|
| |
Once
the keys are in place they need to be pushed away from the radio in order
to unlock the radio and pull it out. Now that the radio is out we removed
the old cage which just pulled out, in some cases you may need to bend
the old cage to remove it. |
|
|
To fit the new cage
you just simply push it in until it locks into place. Now for the wiring,
our Astra comes with steering wheel controls which operated the original
radio, to keep these we had to fit an adapter box and leads along with
an aerial adapter and the relevant harness adaptor lead with ISO plug.
|
|
|
Fitting the leads
is pretty easy as they can only go in one way although the adapter does
have one wire too many (one in hand on left) which in this application
is not necessary. Push radio in and play.
JOB DONE!
